However, the 10 can practice NFC Android beam with the G4 only fine.
Over at the Taiwanese forums, most users can't get their 10 to read NFC cards too.
I'm using the latest 1.30 ROM.
Any ideas?

I take come from the HTC M8 which worked flawlessly with my NFC tags. As shortly as it was within range of a tag, it would read information technology effectively.
At present with the HTC 10, I'g putting the phone close to the NFC tag and..... zilch. No beep, no zero. I'm having to sit in that location and wave the telephone around for a good 30 seconds earlier the phone even recognizes that there is a NFC tag near by, and fifty-fifty and then, it doesn't read it properly. Information technology takes a good 2-3 tries to get it to read an NFC properly.
I'yard hoping it is but a DOA device, and then am putting a warranty call into my telco to have the phone replaced (since I purchased information technology from them directly).
Unless there are some other troubleshooting steps I could try ?

I did more testing...
I have tried two NFC apps from the carte providers in my country called FlashPay & ezlink with 8 NFC cards, also as Easy Wallet NFC with a Taiwanese NFC menu.
Out of the 8 cards, two could not be detected while the residual could be detected and read with conscientious positioning.
The Taiwanese menu could exist detected only non read, and will "crash" the NFC function of the phone every time, requiring a toggle of NFC off and on before information technology can read any card again.
Information technology seems that NFC communications on the HTC ten with cards is extremely weak / directional, while it works better with other devices because the signal from them is active.
In my testing, I can increase the success charge per unit of reading cards with the 10 past holding the NFC card upright, with the long edge horizontal and the front end of the card facing me. Then bring the card and phone together with the peak edge of the phone aligned to the top edge of the bill of fare. I can post a picture if anyone needs it.

Try to toggle NFC on/off quick from the drop downwards menu and retry the browse.Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
That did absolutely nothing. Besides, on the HTC 10, there is no quick NFC Toggle from the drag-down menu.
In maxim that though, ane of the other posts on here gave me a completely crazy and wacky idea for testing.
Normal NFC circuitry and phone builds are designed to read the NFC tags/cards from the back of the phone., considering in HTC10's example, the NFC circuitry is built effectually the camera lens. Since NFC stands for Near-Field-Communication, why wouldn't it work from the front end of the phone besides ?
Then I tried it, and judge what. it started reading every single tag I take, from the offset attempt, without fail.
Just identify the NFC tag/card upwardly near the top speaker on the front end of the telephone.
Would love for people to actually test this out and provide feedback/results if they could.
If this does piece of work for everyone, then I would call it a major blueprint flaw with HTC10'southward NFC.

Guess ours are setup differently out of the gate. That did absolutely nil. Besides, on the HTC x, there is no quick NFC Toggle from the drag-down carte du jour.In maxim that though, one of the other posts on hither gave me a completely crazy and wacky thought for testing.
Normal NFC circuitry and phone builds are designed to read the NFC tags/cards from the back of the phone., because in HTC10'due south case, the NFC circuitry is built around the photographic camera lens. Since NFC stands for Nearly-Field-Communication, why wouldn't it work from the front of the phone as well ?
So I tried it, and guess what. information technology started reading every single tag I have, from the first attempt, without neglect.
Only place the NFC tag/card up well-nigh the summit speaker on the forepart of the telephone.
Would dearest for people to actually test this out and provide feedback/results if they could.
If this does work for anybody, and so I would telephone call it a major design flaw with HTC10's NFC.

Ditto. Likewise have the Reckoner there.
Why does information technology always seem that the more we 'upgrade', the less features and the dumber things actually get ?
The M8 (a two year onetime phone) has more features and abilities than the HTC10 (which has only been out for a week and a bit).
How is this progress ?
Is at that place an app or a utility that allows modifying that drop downwards menu easily (even with root) ? Possibly something forth the lines of a Sense Toolbox or something ?

Normal NFC circuitry and phone builds are designed to read the NFC tags/cards from the back of the phone., because in HTC10's case, the NFC circuitry is built around the camera lens. Since NFC stands for Most-Field-Communication, why wouldn't information technology work from the front of the phone as well ?
So I tried it, and gauge what. it started reading every unmarried tag I take, from the first attempt, without fail.
Only place the NFC tag/carte du jour up most the peak speaker on the front of the phone.
Would love for people to really test this out and provide feedback/results if they could.
